Core Gameplay Mechanic

The goal in Nerdle is to uncover the complete hidden equation before your six attempts run out. Enter a valid calculation using numbers and operators such as +, -, ×, and ÷, then use the feedback from each guess to narrow down the possibilities.

• Green Tile: The number or operator is correct and in the right position.
• Purple Tile: It appears in the equation but belongs somewhere else.
• Black/Grey Tile: It does not help in that position or may not belong in the solution, subject to duplicate-character rules.
• Six Attempts: Solve the equation before using your final guess.
• Valid Equations Only: Random strings of numbers and symbols cannot be used as guesses.

Standard order of operations applies, so multiplication and division are calculated before addition and subtraction. The right side of the equals sign must also be a number.
