Action Games are online games about real-time gameplay where your movement, combat skills, reflexes, and quick decisions determine whether you win, survive, or fail. A shooter can test your aim under pressure, while fighting games bring the action up close with attacks, dodges, and direct combat. Other games turn speed itself into the threat, pushing you through dangerous situations where reacting a second too late can end the run.
Action also mixes easily with other genres. An action platformer might send you jumping through hazards, while parkour adds more demanding movement and obstacle traversal. Racing can create its own high-speed action when crashes and rivals are constantly putting you under pressure.
Longer experiences may borrow exploration and progression from adventure or character development from an RPG. Survival games raise the stakes by making staying alive part of every decision, while stealth takes almost the opposite approach: sometimes avoiding a fight is smarter than starting one.
